English Teacher – IB World School

A leading independent school in north-eastern Santiago, known for its strong educational ethos and commitment to academic excellence, is seeking an experienced English Teacher to join its academic team.

We are looking for an accomplished educator with a strong track record in high-performing schools, sound knowledge of international education, and a genuine commitment to outstanding teaching and learning.

The ideal candidate must bring subject expertise and classroom experience, as well as the initiative, professional judgement, and collaborative approach needed to contribute to curriculum development and wider school improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons that develop students' language proficiency, critical thinking, analytical skills, and confidence in written and spoken English.
- Apply effective teaching and assessment practices aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy and framework.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, development, and progression across year levels, ensuring high standards and consistency in teaching and learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices, develop interdisciplinary initiatives, and support continuous improvement.
- Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages intellectual curiosity, independent thinking, and intercultural understanding.

Qualifications and Experience
- A recognised teaching qualification in English from a well-regarded university.
- A strong track record of successful teaching, ideally with at least seven years' experience in leading independent, bilingual, or international schools.
- Excellent command of English, ideally at CEFR C2 level or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching within the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework. Familiarity with the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment for learning, and effective English language teaching practices.
- Experience in curriculum coordination, pedagogical leadership, mentoring colleagues, or leading academic initiatives will be particularly valued.
- Postgraduate qualifications, relevant international certifications, or IB professional development are considered an advantage.
